how do u guys make a server

this should be trash catorgory.
really how do u make server,,

Download the dedicated server, and or Server Rcon/viewer tool.

Alright...
This is a simple, 5-step procedure that shouldn't take too long.

1. Download. I suppose you've got that.
2. Move the two files [omg, big deal there!] into the cs2d folder where you keep your cs2d.exe and launcher stuffs.
3. Go to control panel, firewall. Then, go to the exceptions tab and click "Add Port" at bottom. Then, name it whatever the hell you want and the UDP port as whatever the hell port you use for your server. [default 36963]
4. Either go into the server.cfg [can be manually opened with notepad] and edit settings there or go into cs2d and edit settings from there. If you're in cs2d, save changes and close out. MAKE SURE YOU'VE GOT MAP TRANSFER ON OR PEOPLE WON'T DOWNLOAD THE MAP AND MAP-STUFFS!!!
5. Run cs2d_dedicated.exe to make the thing dedicated. [as in shows up in server-list and you don't have to look over it all the time inside]

That should be it. Want logs? Go into sys folder, logs folder, and it should be in there somewhere... Hard to find since it is named exactly the same as the others... o.O

Some reason when i did it it goes to lan and when ever i try turning sv_lan off the sever shuts down and i cant play on it

I forget what the specifics are about sv_lan, but even if your server isn't offline, it'll still appear in your LAN server list because, duh, it's on your computer.
Ask specific questions, and I'll try to help.

Really? Well, make sure you uncheck the Offline checkbox in the first tab for new server. Also, like I said before, check your firewall settings. It might be preventing your friends from joining the server.

3. Go down to the checkboxes
4. Make sure Offline is UNCHECKED.
If that doesn't work...
1. Go to your Control Panel
2. Firewall settings
3. Make an exception for CS2D
If that doesn't work, then try to find out what the problem is. I can help you then... because you're kinda vague and ambiguity doesn't help.

I found out the problem why all those instruction doesn't work for you all my idea is that
you have a router connected to your modem. Each router has a build in firewall so Theres a 50% chance
you can make a sever. But frist ask your Parent or Gaurdian for you to take out the router from connecting to your modem
Once you take the modem out you need a LAN connecter which is a wire thing. If your computer or laptop is far from the modem I suggest you forget about making a sever unless you have a longer lan connecter will cost you maybe $50- 70 for a
long lan connecter.

Ok once you connect your Lan to your computer and the other side of the Lan Conect to the modem
Follow the rest instructions from other people.
This should help alot i hope cuz thats how i run my sever -.-

And about Nigga's forum about me My response is " I only deleted the turrets on the spawn entrance theres no harm on that..."

I THINK that you can let CS2D things through the firewall manually by using the control panel. If you go there, you can make "exceptions" to the firewall that will let it allow internet connection between CS2D and the rest of the world through. That's how it works for some [or several] online games. However, if your computer has Parental Controls [which mine does :'(] on Vista, then I have no idea how to help. You COULD install this thing on a friend's computer that would let you take control of it, but I haven't tried that and might be potentially dangerous. Plus, you'd probably have one helluva time trying to explain to your friend's parents why the computer is magically doing things by itself.
nealon, what OS do you have? Windows XP or some kind of Mac? That might help...
